What do we mean by machine-cut paving?

If you’re looking for a more uniform finish for your paving project – whether that be a pathway, driveway or patio – machine-cut stone is a great solution.

Machine-cut stone is where the top, bottom and all four sides are Machine-cut (also known as ‘six sided machined cut’) which produces a smooth surface, unless sandblasted which results in a slightly motley finish to the top.

The crisp edges on machine-cut paving slabs, utilise the natural stone surface in a different way to hand-cut paving.

Which machine-cut stone should I choose?

There are several options when choosing machine-cut paving, and each type of stone has its own distinct features.

Natural slate paving is perfect for both traditional and contemporary designs, it can be laid internally and externally enabling a natural transition from home to garden. Suited to the British climate, natural slate paving slabs are frost resistant but will weather to give an attractive, natural appearance. More contemporary looks can be achieved with the sawn sandstone and machine-cut limestone, while travertine provides a more classic alternative.
